Winter Has Arrived at Hotham ❄️

The first day of winter is here, and the mountain is waking up. Temps plummeted and snow fell across the village over the weekend, with the forecast looking promising for fresh snow throughout this week. Plus, the snowmaking crew are on standby to fire up the guns again when conditions allow! Stay tuned, we’ll be providing an operational update as soon as possible. 

Welcome to Winter Weekend is fast approaching. Across the resort, retail stores and village venues will be open from 6 June, making it the perfect time to refresh your gear and catch up with your snow crew to celebrate the start of winter. Here’s a few of the events you won’t want to miss: 

• Live Music at The Genny with Benny Williams – Friday 5 June, from 9PM. 

• Opening Weekend Trivia at The Bird – Saturday 6 June, from 6PM. Book a table! 

• Live DJs & Happy Hour at The Bird – Sunday 7 June, 3-6PM. 

• Meet Olympian Darcie Morton at Zirky’s – Sunday 7 June, 6PM. 

• DJ Eddy’s first gig of the season at The Genny – Sunday 7 June, from 9:30PM.

What's new for 2026:  

• BoardBox and Pinnacle: Both stores have a new layout and are rolling in the latest gear for the season. 

• Chill Bar & Café: Newly renovated, with a larger bar space and more beers on tap. 

• Freshies: A new café from the Chill Bar team, serving great coffee and quick bites in Hotham Central. 

• The General: The upstairs space has had a glow‑up: interior upgrades, more dinner seating, a boosted sound system and a dedicated DJ booth for club nights. 

• Viva Alpina – Pasta & Espresso Bar: Scheduled to open from 27 June! 

• Mountain upgrades: Major summer works included a Village Chair drive‑system upgrade, improvements to snowmaking infrastructure, and new scanning gates for smoother access. More details to come later this week.
