Welcome To Winter - Part 2!
This is worth coming back for! We've had an average of 17 cm of cold snow overnight and there is still the odd burst being blown through by the strong northwest wind this morning. The current temperature is minus 4, and the forecast is calling for the snow showers to intensify later in the day.
This snow has certainly improved the cover below the road and I'm hopeful that we'll be able to get The Village Chair running today. An assessment will be made at first light, and if it's a goer, the operations teams will be doing what they can to get it spinning as soon as possible. And I suspect the strong wind may play havoc with the upper chair lifts, so keep a close eye on the lift status this morning.
I'll hopefully see you cutting a few laps of The Village Loop in good snow conditions today, but regardless of how things play out in the short term, we are definitely heading in the right direction. Enjoy.

Backcountry Conditions
Although the cover is still marginal in the backcountry, some steep lee slopes that were holding snow may have some wind slab this morning. Take care of them and beware of the very boney cover if you must go out there today.... but better to leave it until after this storm so a proper assessment can be made.
NEWS JUST IN. Well the storm did roll in and we have 10 to 15cms on the trails The groomers will be snow mobile grooming throughout the day today and hopefully some machine grooming tonight.

The Hotham Hub has toilets, toboggan hire, hot food and drinks to make your experience all that more enjoyable.
The Peashooter toboggan slope at DP is also open.
